Yesterday, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences (AMS) celebrated the World No-Tobacco Day, under the title ”A Day Without Smoking” sponsored by the American company Baxter International for health care. Where fliers and posters were handed out to spread awareness of the harmful effects smoking can cause on the lungs and kidneys and identifying alternatives for tobacco, and accomplish the university’s mission and community responsibility.
It is worth noting that the World Health Organization celebrates World No-Tobacco Day on May 31st of each year, to highlight the risks associated with tobacco usage, and to raise awareness of the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke, and precautions to take on tobacco cessation.
